Deb Caplan is a retired Fortune 200 Human Capital Executive and Chief Operating Officer with three decades of HR, operations, and customer service experience. Respected for transforming workforces into business differentiators, she is a valued advisor and mentor to C-suites and boards on operational excellence, benefits, succession planning, supply chain, safety, and talent development.

As Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Services at NextEra Energy, Deb helped deliver outsized financial results by creating a culture of innovation and leveraging human capital into a strategic business driver. Her efforts assisted in garnering numerous corporate recognitions for sustainability, ethics, and diversity, including a Fortune “World’s Most Admired Companies” designation. Previously, Deb served as COO of Florida Power & Light, a NextEra subsidiary, and Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain, where she was responsible for sourcing and logistics of more than $5B in goods and services.

Deb began her career as an engineer and manufacturing executive at GE Aircraft Engines. She then transitioned to GE Capital as a Six Sigma Leader for two multibillion-dollar financing businesses and ultimately became Senior Vice President of Global Operations for its vendor financial services company.

Deb currently serves on the public boards of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Mid-America Apartment Communities. She previously served as a Board Director for Terminix Global Holdings. She has been a valued member of multiple not-for-profit and industry boards focused on education, health, and community impact. Deb earned a BS in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan and an MS in manufacturing engineering from Boston University.
